Hiking Worlds
In the ATOMIC Vital-Park, two very contrasting worlds of hiking lie very close to one another. The delightful village of Altenmarkt (elev. 842 m), nestled amid a broad, open valley bottom, marked by fascinating forested ridgelines and mountaintops that are easy to hike, all flanked by an imposing alpine backdrop, and the mountain village of Zauchensee (1,350 m), surrounded by high pastures and mountains seemingly plucked from the pages of a picture book.

In general, these two distinct worlds feature intermediate-level hiking routes at all elevations and always filled with contrasts: hikes from Altenmarkt that are gentle and relaxing, hikes from Zauchensee that are rich in challenges and adventure. In total, 20 hiking routes extending out for some 240 km, on and around the Lacken- and Strimskogel, ranging between 842 and 2,344 m above sea level, create the hiking paradise that is the ATOMIC Vital-Park.
