History of the Farm & Our Family
Our farm has belonged to this family without interruption since 1686. Because of this, the Arnoldgut was designated a Listed Historic Farm in 1933. When our parents took over the farm in 1959, they slowly mechanized the operation to make the work around the farm a little easier.
Our parents, Josef and Maria Huber, began renting out guest rooms in the 1970s, since when it has been possible to spend a whole vacation on our farm. When we took over the business in 1999, we also made it our goal to institute improvements that would enhance the comfort and satisfaction of family and guests alike.
Our Family History (59 kb)
Lisa: Lisa – Maria is the eldest of our five children, and very often the darling of our guest children.
She is responsible for looking after the rabbits, cats, guinea pigs and hamsters.
Christian: Christian is our second-born, and always happy when he gets some male "reinforcements". He enjoys riding with grandpa on the tractor, and really loves to play in the sand box.
Eva: Eva Maria loves to jump up and down on the trampoline, collects rocks, and is happy to help out mom and dad around the kitchen. She is passionate about playing mom to the cats.
Johanna: Johanna is our 4th child and, as the next-youngest, tends to be spoiled by young and old.
Jonas: is the youngest in our family.
Rosemarie: Rosemarie, the lady of the farm, takes care of the children and guests, helps in the barn, likes to hike and loves nature.
Christian: Christian is the farmer, a trained cabinetmaker who always finds things to improve around the house.
He gets true joy out of farming, and if he has any time to spare, he likes to play the accordion and dulcimer.
Our parents, Josef and Maria are great support for us, both on the farm and in the house.
