Wood chip heating

In 2011 wood chip heating was installed on the farm. We get the firewood we need for this from our own forest / wood entitlement right (applies in parts of Austria). The entire building and the hot water for the stables/cow sheds are heated by wood – with this heating we save the climate an annual 24.2 tons of CO².

Photovoltaics

In 2011 a 5 KW solar power system for own consumption was fitted on the stable roof.

In 2013 a 15 KW system was fitted onto the shed. Both systems generate ca. 90% of our power consumption.

In 2014 we built a small solar system for our larch wood swimming pool so that we can also make use of the sun.

E-bikes & pedelecs

E-bikes which can be hired from Intersport or Sport Art in Altenmarkt provide a very special type of cycling fun with which you can – almost silently and without much effort – explore the surrounding area, visit alms and discover a whole new world of cycling!
