Regardless of how long your holiday on Arnoldgut Farm in Altenmarkt is, it will never be long enough for exploring all the region’s excursion destinations. The various rooms offer the visitor an interesting insight into the life and culture of the local population. A farmer's room and a smokehouse, the crib room, the marksmen's room, a sacral room, the bathers' room, a school class, a traditional costume room and a Perchten room can be wandered through here. In addition, you can also see large agricultural implements and tools - these are located in the second museum in the Dechantshof barn.
One of the real gems in our local museum is the more than 250 year old "Grundner crib". This unique nativity scene, which was created in Altenmarkt, delights young and old alike.
The 300 m long forest high ropes course has 16 stations and platforms up to 20 m high. It takes about two hours until you have mastered everything. Here you can show your skills under treetops over steel ropes, slides, rope bridges and wooden walkways and several times during spectacular crossings of the wild and romantic Zauchbach stream.
The Grafenberg in Wagrain with the nature and mountain experience world "Wagraini "s Grafenberg" and the "KUHbidu Erlebnisweg" is the perfect destination for the whole family. Ride the Grafenbergbahn from Wagrain effortlessly to the top station at 1,700 meters. It is no problem to take along baby carriages in the 6-seater gondola lift.
There you and your children will then find entertainment and action on a raft, a suspension bridge, the Hachaurutsche, the low ropes course, the swing forest, the climbing stadium, "path of fascination" and in the water park - fun for the whole family!
More than 40 large and small play stations along the largely stroller-friendly hiking trails make the Geisterberg one of the most popular destinations in the province of Salzburg. Highlights in the Geisterberg are the Geisterberg castle, the ghost village, climbing towers, swings, water games, family hikes as well as numerous slides.
The "Geisterbergzug", a tractor train, comfortably takes you part of the way from the top station of the Alpendorf gondola to the center of the Geisterberg adventure world.
"Soccergolf" is played like golf on 18 holes with par 72, but the ball is played with the foot without using a club with as few "strokes" as possible over various obstacles to the hole.
Our outdoor soccergolf facility covers a playing area of about 32,000 m2. The courses are 45 to 110 meters long, the total distance of all 18 courses together is about 1.8 km - so you are through in 1.5 to 2 hours.
The Liechtensteinklamm in St. Johann im Pongau is one of the longest, deepest and most impressive gorges in the Alps. It fascinates young and old with the mighty roar of the waterfall, the moss-covered stones, a legendary atmosphere and rays of sunlight that conjure up a rainbow in the fine water dust.
An airy experience awaits you at the more than 900-year-old Hohenwerfen Adventure Castle in Salzburg's Pongau region. On the steep rock cone high above the Salzach valley, the wind of the surrounding mountain giants blows around your nose as you look through the loopholes. There are many entertaining activities for children here, such as the riddle rally, knight games for children, knight tournaments, fairy tale hikes or a big children's festival.
Meanwhile, the adults - but also the children - can join one of the interesting guided tours through the Middle Ages, experience a bird of prey show, experience medieval atmosphere at one of the knight festivals or visit one of the exhibitions. A restaurant invites you to take a break with drinks and food.
The wildlife park Untertauern extends over 6 hectares and is home to 40 wild animals in the free enclosure. Here in the park, parents and children can expect to see native animals such as red deer, fallow deer, pygmy goats, various species of ducks, beavers, fish, rabbits, bantams and much more. In addition, there are some exotic animals, such as nandus and llamas, but also Scottish highland cattle and mouflon. The animals can be observed up close during a tour of the natural and spacious grounds.
In addition to the animal park, the Untertauern Wildlife and Leisure Park has other attractions for parents and children, such as the children's play area. The children's adventure land with swings, pile house, slide as well as a petting zoo with animals to touch and a slow train as well as a swimming lake is very popular with children. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy a drink or home cooking in the adjoining inn overlooking the children.
With its total length of 42 km, the Eisriesenwelt is the largest known ice cave in the world. It was discovered in 1879. You can climb up to the Eisriesenwelt on foot or take the cable car almost to the entrance of the cave. An experience for the whole family!
Flori's adventure trail means hiking, puzzling and having a blast! This adventure trail, which is suitable for strollers, is perfect for families with children of all ages. The children are thrilled here by countless fun play and puzzle stations such as flying fox, swings, climbing walls or slides. The search is on for Flori's secret code word. For all those who crack Flori's secret code word, there is a little surprise so that Flori and the great adventures are not forgotten so quickly at home.
On Bärtl's family trail in Filzmoos you hike in the midst of nature along dark green forests and across lush meadows. At various play stations you and your children can really let off steam.
The stations encourage balancing, climbing and swinging. But also at the long throw, on the standing seesaw or at the climbing garden and much more the kids are challenged. Just start hiking with your children - on Bärtl's family hiking trail there is certainly something for everyone!
Climbing is a sport that inspires young and old. Beginners and kids will find the perfect via ferrata here at the Seewand climbing center. The relatively easy, scenic and not too long via ferrata (height difference 90 m) leads climbing fans into the world of rocks and offers them beautiful views of Zauchensee. The via ferrata is difficulty level A-B/C and therefore also suitable for children over 10 years accompanied by an adult or mountain guide.
